5 Cabins

Papiton Duwa's weekend Open Trip moved to Thursday through Saturday for 2026, a deliberate shift to sidestep Komodo's busiest days on the water. Weekday sailings still run Monday through Wednesday.   All five cabins sit on the main or upper deck with a sea view, Manta Room's private balcony the one upgrade worth chasing. Charter the whole 29.91 meter phinisi outright, from a single day up to a week.

Overview

All five rooms live upstairs, and three places to watch the water

No cabin on this boat sits below deck. Manta Room, the upper-deck flagship, adds a private balcony to its queen bed and sea view, the one room aboard with outdoor space of its own. Coral Room shares the upper deck without the balcony, and Turtle, Dolphin and Flounder hold the main deck, each a queen with a sea view. Every room here runs full air conditioning, with a private bathroom and hot water of its own, and Manta and Coral both take an extra single bed for a third guest.

Three different places to sit with the water in view. The signature bowsprit, netted for safety, hangs a hammock spot right over the bow wake. The sundeck runs along the main level for the obvious use, and a rooftop deck sits above it again, stacking a third layer onto a boat this size.

A trip most weeks, a dozen stops

Papiton Duwa’s three-day, two-night Open Trip sails on a set weekly rhythm, Monday through Wednesday, plus a weekend run. For 2026, that weekend sailing has shifted from the usual Friday-to-Sunday slot to Thursday-to-Saturday, a change made specifically to sidestep the busiest days on the water. Either way you’re joining a small group capped at twelve, not queuing behind whichever weekend crowd got there first.

The Open Trip’s route runs Siaba Island, Manta Point and Taka Makassar on day one before a sunset climb up Padar, then Komodo Village, Pink Beach, Pimpe Island and the Kalong bat flight on day two, closing with Manjarite and Kelor Islands on the way back to Labuan Bajo. A personal guide and a personal photographer, Papiton Duwa’s own crew, sail with every Open Trip at no extra cost, and a stand-up paddleboard rides along for the swim stops.

One boat, a week if you want it

Charter Papiton Duwa outright and the calendar opens up, anywhere from a single day to a full week, priced by the boat rather than the cabin. The route bends to your group across the same waters, Gili Lawa, Kalong, Kelor, Komodo, Manjarite, Padar and Pink Beach among them, with the crew building the days around wherever you want to stop.

Most 2026 weekend Open Trip departures run Thursday through Saturday, the shift made to dodge Komodo’s busiest weekend traffic. Occasionally a Friday-to-Sunday date appears instead, which happens when a private charter booking overlaps that particular week and shifts the shared departure around it, not a reversal of the new schedule. Book early in the week you want, and we’ll confirm the exact days before you pay.

A stand-up paddleboard is a named inclusion on the Open Trip, brought along for the calm water between stops rather than something you’d need to bring yourself. Ask the crew for it at the first swim stop, and if you want it confirmed ahead of a specific sailing, ask us before you book.

Not automatically. The personal photographer sails free with every Open Trip departure, but book Papiton Duwa as a private charter instead and that service becomes a paid add-on arranged ahead of time rather than something built into the rate. The personal guide stays included either way; it’s specifically the photographer that changes between the two trip types.
