6 Cabins
Six cabins split into two styles, Manta and Turtle, wrap around Sea Familia's white hull and a circular Jacuzzi at the bow, built in 2019 from ulin and teak. Karaoke and a proper sound system round out evenings that lean social rather than quiet. It runs as a shared cabin trip or a full private charter, and the brochure's own pitch, family trips, friend groups, colleague getaways, matches who actually books it.

Sea Familia’s hull runs bright white over ulin and teak, built in 2019, with a mast tall enough to mark it out at the harbor. Its bow holds the boat’s signature: a circular Jacuzzi ringed with cushions, the spot for a soak while the anchor drops, or a drink once the light starts to go. A separate sundeck stretches out further back for guests who’d rather stay in direct sun, and an indoor dining room seats the whole group together over long wooden tables when shade wins instead.
Evenings lean toward a proper night in rather than an early lights-out. Sea Familia carries a karaoke setup and a real sound system, plus an upper deck lounge for the half of the group that would rather watch the stars. On the practical side, the trip’s documentation already includes drone footage, no separate shoot to book or pay for later.
Six cabins split cleanly into two types, both dressed in the same ikat-pattern linens throughout the boat. Manta rooms are the bigger pair, four of them, each fitting two guests with room for a third on a purchasable extra bed, and a wide ocean view. Turtle rooms are smaller, two of them, wrapped in tropical prints with oversized portholes that flood the room with light. All six run air conditioning and a private bathroom, so the real difference between them is size and view, not comfort.
Sea Familia runs Shared Journey and Private Charter trips in Komodo year round, with the private charter stretching from a single day up to five. The build matches how the brochure markets it: more for a family reunion, a friend group, or two people marking an anniversary than for a diver chasing sites. Wide communal spaces and six cabins are built for a group rather than someone traveling solo, with a spare bed available in a Manta room if your numbers run odd. Diving exists too: our packages sell it as its own private charter rather than folded into the standard route, though the boat’s own brochure prices it as a simpler per-day add-on instead, so ask us to confirm what’s actually bookable when you inquire.

The Cruising trip runs Komodo's familiar circuit: Kelor and Kalong outbound, Padar and Pink Beach at the center, dragons on Komodo Island. The shared cabin trip holds to three fixed days, while private charters run anywhere from one day to five, sized as easily for a family as a group of colleagues.

Sea Familia’s own brochure prices diving as a per-person, per-day supplement added onto a Cruising trip, rather than a separate product. The way it’s currently set up on our side treats Diving as its own private charter package instead, run separately from the Cruising trip. If a blended trip is what you want, ask us directly and we’ll confirm what’s actually bookable before you commit.
Both trip types use the same boat, so the bow Jacuzzi comes included either way, shared cabin or full charter, not a private-only add-on. It sits right where the anchor drops, so plan on it as a stop-time feature rather than something you’d use mid-crossing. Worth asking the crew about timing if a specific soak or sunset moment matters to your trip.
Sea Familia’s documentation set covers the trip generally, photo, video and drone footage included as standard rather than billed as an extra, but it isn’t a dedicated photographer assigned to follow your group specifically. If a personal shoot built around your own group is what you’re after, mention it when booking so we can confirm what’s actually arranged versus general trip coverage.
Shared trips are the most common way solo travelers sail with us: you book your spot, not the whole boat, and arrive to ready-made company. On liveaboards, if you’d rather not share a cabin, say so and we’ll sort a single or price the supplement honestly. More on the Shared Journey page.
The guest capacity on this page is the honest answer, and how your group fills it is up to you. Tell us who’s coming and we’ll confirm the setup that fits before you commit. More on the Private Charter page.
The route changes before anyone risks a crossing, so most weather problems show up as a different anchorage rather than a cancelled trip. On the rare occasion a trip can’t run at all, we work out a reschedule or a refund with you under our T&C. Itineraries are always a plan, never a promise.
We strongly recommend it, and dive insurance too if you’re diving. It isn’t included in any boat’s price, and out among the islands help is never next door, so a policy that covers boat travel is money well spent. Some dive boats require dive insurance, and we’ll tell you if yours does.
Yes, with a permit. The park requires one for every drone, and approval takes about three working days, so it needs arranging before you travel. There are no same-day permits, and flying without one risks having the drone confiscated. Kalong, Loh Buaya and Loh Liang are permanent no-fly zones, which puts the sunset bat flight off limits. We don’t arrange the permit ourselves, but ask us and we’ll talk you through how it works.
Fly to Labuan Bajo, usually via Bali or Jakarta, and the harbour is minutes from the airport. Come in the day before your boat leaves rather than the same morning: one delayed flight shouldn’t cost you the trip.
Calmer than most people expect. Every water we sail has its own calm window, and rough crossings are rarer than the word “sea” suggests. If you’re prone to motion sickness, take something before you board and you’ll barely notice: it’s the open stretches you feel, never the anchorages.
Less than you think. Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, something long-sleeved for the sun, shoes that can handle a dry ridge, and a dry bag for anything that must stay dry. A soft bag beats a hard suitcase on any boat.
You message us, we check what’s actually free on the boat you’re after, then send everything in writing: the boat, the dates, what’s included and the real price. Happy with it? We issue an invoice and a secure payment link, and written confirmation seals it.
A down payment takes your dates off the calendar, and the balance follows closer to departure. The exact split and timing are on your quotation in writing before you commit to anything.
We issue an invoice with a secure Xendit payment link, sent by email and WhatsApp. You can pay by local or international card, virtual account, e-wallet, or QRIS. Everything is charged in Indonesian rupiah.
Plans shift, and we work with you when they do. Dates can usually be moved once if the boat is free, and if a trip can’t go ahead, we’ll walk you through your options rather than point at fine print. Anything that needs to come back to you returns the way you paid, usually within 7 to 14 business days. The full detail is in our Terms & Conditions.
They’re not included in any boat’s price, but you don’t have to deal with them on the ground. Say the word when you enquire and we’ll add them to your invoice, which locks your permit in before you arrive. No cash, no queue at the harbour the morning you sail.
If this one isn't quite it, these sail the same water at close to the same price. Worth a look before you decide.
