7 Cabins
Seven cabins split across three tiers aboard Zada Nara: a balcony master, two suite cabins, and four simpler deluxe rooms below deck. Twin engines give the hull a wider speed range than a single-engine boat manages. Join the fixed three-day shared trip and book by cabin, or charter Zada Nara outright for two to five days and set the route yourselves.

Zada Nara carries a Mitsubishi 8D M21 as the main engine and a 6D16 as backup, pushing a cruising speed of 8 to 14 knots. In practice that means a longer crossing doesn’t eat into the day the way it does on a single-engine boat, and the extra power is there if weather or timing calls for it. The hull itself runs 30.45 meters of ulin and teak, wide enough at 6.02 meters that the seven cabins don’t feel stacked on top of each other.
Seven cabins split into three tiers, and the tub doesn’t stop at the top one. The Master has the upper deck to itself, a private balcony with a bathtub set right on it, the kind of room built for two people who want the view to themselves. Both Suite cabins, one deck down, get a bathtub in the bathroom rather than on a balcony, a smaller version of the same comfort at a lower tier. The four Deluxe cabins on the lower deck keep it plain: a private double and ensuite, no tub, built for the group members who’d rather save the difference than soak in it.
The front deck is the room everyone ends up in: a canopy wide enough to shade the whole lounge, plush sofas facing the water, and a spot that works for breakfast as easily as it does a sundowner. Move indoors and the mood shifts, air conditioning, a Smart TV and a karaoke setup for the nights that want noise rather than quiet. There’s a bar lounge for the in-between hours, and a forward sun deck if the group splits between the social side of the boat and the side that wants to lie flat and read.
The Open Trip runs a fixed three days and two nights, a set route through Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong on the first day, then Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Taka Makassar and a manta pass on the second, closing on Kanawa. You book a cabin on it, not the boat. Charter Zada Nara privately and the length stretches from two days to five, with stops that can reach further out, Gili Lawa, Siaba, Rangko Cave, Bidadari Island, depending on how many days you’ve got and where the group wants to spend them.

Zada Nara sits at the top of its own fleet’s lineup, the one boat branded Luxury while the rest of the lineup runs at the Deluxe tier below it. The higher tier shows up in the cabin fit-out, three of the seven cabins carry their own bathtub, more than in the itinerary, which draws from the same Komodo waters as the rest.
It gives Zada Nara an 8 to 14 knot cruising range, wider than a single-engine phinisi typically runs. The private charter also has the longer reach: four- and five-day charters push out to Gili Lawa, Siaba and Rangko Cave, stops beyond the fixed three-day Open Trip’s closer loop through Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong.
Both. The front deck’s canopy, sofas and the indoor lounge come with Zada Nara regardless of how you book, so an Open Trip guest reaches the same spaces as someone chartering privately. The only real difference is sharing them with another cabin’s guests instead of having the boat to yourselves.
It depends on the boat, and that’s the honest answer. Many Komodo dive boats take complete beginners, with an intro dive or a course finished on board, while the remote crossings ask for real, current experience. Tell us where you are and we’ll confirm what this boat runs. More on the Plan Your Journey page.
Shared trips are the most common way solo travelers sail with us: you book your spot, not the whole boat, and arrive to ready-made company. On liveaboards, if you’d rather not share a cabin, say so and we’ll sort a single or price the supplement honestly. More on the Shared Journey page.
The guest capacity on this page is the honest answer, and how your group fills it is up to you. Tell us who’s coming and we’ll confirm the setup that fits before you commit. More on the Private Charter page.
The route changes before anyone risks a crossing, so most weather problems show up as a different anchorage rather than a cancelled trip. On the rare occasion a trip can’t run at all, we work out a reschedule or a refund with you under our T&C. Itineraries are always a plan, never a promise.
We strongly recommend it, and dive insurance too if you’re diving. It isn’t included in any boat’s price, and out among the islands help is never next door, so a policy that covers boat travel is money well spent. Some dive boats require dive insurance, and we’ll tell you if yours does.
Yes, with a permit. The park requires one for every drone, and approval takes about three working days, so it needs arranging before you travel. There are no same-day permits, and flying without one risks having the drone confiscated. Kalong, Loh Buaya and Loh Liang are permanent no-fly zones, which puts the sunset bat flight off limits. We don’t arrange the permit ourselves, but ask us and we’ll talk you through how it works.
Fly to Labuan Bajo, usually via Bali or Jakarta, and the harbour is minutes from the airport. Come in the day before your boat leaves rather than the same morning: one delayed flight shouldn’t cost you the trip.
Calmer than most people expect. Every water we sail has its own calm window, and rough crossings are rarer than the word “sea” suggests. If you’re prone to motion sickness, take something before you board and you’ll barely notice: it’s the open stretches you feel, never the anchorages.
Less than you think. Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, something long-sleeved for the sun, shoes that can handle a dry ridge, and a dry bag for anything that must stay dry. A soft bag beats a hard suitcase on any boat.
You message us, we check what’s actually free on the boat you’re after, then send everything in writing: the boat, the dates, what’s included and the real price. Happy with it? We issue an invoice and a secure payment link, and written confirmation seals it.
A down payment takes your dates off the calendar, and the balance follows closer to departure. The exact split and timing are on your quotation in writing before you commit to anything.
We issue an invoice with a secure Xendit payment link, sent by email and WhatsApp. You can pay by local or international card, virtual account, e-wallet, or QRIS. Everything is charged in Indonesian rupiah.
Plans shift, and we work with you when they do. Dates can usually be moved once if the boat is free, and if a trip can’t go ahead, we’ll walk you through your options rather than point at fine print. Anything that needs to come back to you returns the way you paid, usually within 7 to 14 business days. The full detail is in our Terms & Conditions.
They’re not included in any boat’s price, but you don’t have to deal with them on the ground. Say the word when you enquire and we’ll add them to your invoice, which locks your permit in before you arrive. No cash, no queue at the harbour the morning you sail.
If this one isn't quite it, these sail the same water at close to the same price. Worth a look before you decide.
Anything not covered above follows our Terms & Conditions.
