7 Cabins

Built in 2024 of solid ironwood, Angelica is one of the newest boats working Komodo. Four of its seven cabins carry private balconies, rare on a phinisi, and the VIP cabin Candi pairs its own balcony with a bathtub.   A bow-deck Jacuzzi and rooftop lounge suit social groups and honeymooners alike, while the Sasando cabin sleeps up to four for families. Private charters take the whole boat; shared trips join a cabin among fellow travelers.

Overview

The 2024 newcomer

Angelica is a 38 meter ironwood phinisi finished in 2024, one of the newest hulls working Komodo’s shared and private trips. The pitch is quiet, natural-material comfort, and the build backs it up: calm interiors, ironwood underfoot, and a boat that hasn’t had years to wear yet.

The signature feature backs that quiet pitch up. The bow-deck Jacuzzi is the fact every trip sheet leads with, and it’s built into the deck itself rather than dropped in as an afterthought, ringed by daybeds with an open view over the anchorage. It reads less like a spa add-on and more like the boat’s main social space, especially once the sun starts going down.

Four balconies and a bathtub

Most phinisis don’t give guests a balcony at all. Angelica gives four: the VIP cabin Candi and all three Master cabins, Batik, Keris and Wayang, each open onto their own private balcony, and Candi goes a step further with a bathtub next to the sea view. The remaining cabins, Tenun and Tari on the lower deck plus the family cabin Sasando, keep ocean views and ensuite bathrooms without the balcony, and Sasando’s extra beds sleep up to four.

Even the names carry the same thought-through feel. Every cabin on Angelica borrows its name, and its interior mood, from an Indonesian cultural reference: Candi for a temple’s stillness, Batik, Keris and Wayang for textile, blade and shadow-puppet motifs, Tari for dance, Tenun for handwoven cloth, and Sasando for the stringed instrument from East Nusa Tenggara. It’s a small detail, but it runs through all seven cabins rather than stopping at one.

Shared cabin or the whole boat

Angelica runs both patterns. Book a shared cabin and join other travelers on the open-trip route through Komodo’s headline stops. Charter the whole boat and the itinerary bends to your group, from a single day up to eight, with room for up to sixteen guests plus extras across all seven cabins. Either way it’s leisure cruising: no dive product, and no dive gear beyond snorkel sets.

FAQs

Step into a world where traditional craftsmanship meets modern nautical design. Explore the expansive decks, social lounges, and unique architectural details that make this vessel a premier choice for your island adventure.

Bring your own gear or arrange an outside photographer before you board. Angelica’s package excludes camera, GoPro and drone documentation entirely, and there’s no built-in service to add on the day, so any footage of the trip is footage you’ve planned for in advance.

A group accident policy folded into the package price rather than sold separately. It covers accidental death, disability, medical expenses and evacuation if something goes wrong on board. It isn’t a substitute for your own travel insurance, just added protection for the days you’re actually sailing.

At Komodo Airport, not the harbor, for the 3D2N and 4D3N itineraries: pickup runs 09:00 to 09:30 straight from arrivals rather than a hotel-to-harbor transfer. Build a landing time before that window into your flight rather than assuming a hotel-to-harbor transfer sorts it out after you’ve checked in somewhere first.
